This is my original concept sketch for the electric guitar I'm now building. The basic dimensions were taken from the electric guitar I already have, and altered to suit my taste and preferences. For example the body shape was designed for comfort while sitting (and may change a bit yet), and the scale length is a bit on the short side.
See the post Electric Guitar Progress for a look at how the design has changed so far. Quite a bit! The overall shape is similar, but the color will be completely different. I think I'm going to go with a black neck and body with a varnished walnut top. I might carve a small design in the top as well. We'll see. The neck profile and scale length is still to be decided as well. I've left the neck long for now. Also, when I started looking at different wiring options I added 3 mini switches where the flower is in this sketch.
It should be interesting to see how the finished project turns out. Nothing ever seems to go quite as originally planned.
It's been a while since I've done anything on this project. Time to get back at it!
