New Oil Painting Series

My ambition and creativity come in fits and spurts.  I'm having a bit of a spurt now, and I'm taking everything I can get out of it while it lasts.

I was downtown last week and decided to go into the Deserres art store and buy some bigger canvases than the small sizes I usually paint on.  I also got a couple bigger brushes for a decent price.  I want to do some oil painting.  I miss it.  And I've been procrastinating for way too long.

I'm starting a series of flower paintings.  I browsed through my iphoto library the other day and picked out some of my favorite flower photos.  I seem to have collected quite a pile of them!  I spent some time last weekend prepping my canvasses, and even managed to do an initial pencil sketch on a couple of them.

My niece Kayla was over last weekend, and I like doing art when she is around.  She likes to color and is always creative with her colors and ideas, and she inspires me to be creative as well.

I'll post some pictures once I get some paint on the canvases.
